The article for
this week shows engaging information about Computer-assisted Language Learning
(CALL). In general terms, something I learned from this article is that
technological and pedagogical development now allow us integrate computer technology
into the language learning process. Moreover, as future innovated teachers should
know how to take advantage of the use of technology for learn a language an
easier and efficient method.
The authors of the article “Computer –assisted Language Teaching “ give a brief history about how computers have been used fof Language Teaching . Those programs are adapted for diverse of learners with the purpose of providing an authentic learning .Adittionally ,integrating learners in a genuine environment and also developing their skills.
A large number of software programs are being designed
with the purpose of help learners to develop their skills and acquire the language
in a particular way. In consequence to this, variety of areas are reinforced
such as pronunciation , grammar, speaking, listening, writing because of the diversity
of programs and multimedia systems, such as videos, animations, interactions with
others people around the world , text reconstructions, interacting activities ,

The article explain that the teacher has become as facilitator of learning based of what the student must learn in order to meet diverse needs and the teacher seeks provide students the solutions of theirs needs . ReplyDeleteNowadays , fortunately we have diversity of tools which can support the class .Is a nice idea to take advantage of those tools. In firts placer,we need to get familiar with them because is really important that teachers recieve a training in the technology field.
DeleteI think the same way, the teacher needs provide some solution about how they learn second language and to try capt more interenting about the studens like a way through the technology, I really like a part when Mark Warschauer and Deborah Healey share the a number of software offer practice in a variety of skills, that help of course to the syudents and I agree with them. ReplyDeleteHi Susana! As you stated in one of the comments above, it probably happened to all of us that we were not aware of the variety of programs and softwares that are out there and that can help us develop classes, tests, activities in a faster and in a more effective way.
ReplyDeleteWe as future teachers have to make the best out of every reachable technological tool.
Hi Jeannete, you are right , we'll have a challenge , but we cannot ignore the technology as teachers tend to do in the past.We need to be aware with technology because we are living in a world where children, teens and adults get alone with those tools.
DeleteI’m totally agree with you Susana, us as future teacher we have to work/teach hand by hand with technology because with pass of the time technology will be evolving and the ways of teaching as well. On the other hand, we as future teacher, we have to be very carefully with the type of learners; due to, not all of them will have the same skills, I mean each student learns in a different way (some are better by listening, some other by speaking). Therefore, what do you think a teacher can do to help student who have different skills to learn?
ReplyDeleteIs important that you are saying Alex. Learners always learn in a different way.Is the responsability of the teacher provide the correct task to help them to support the skills which they need to develop , this means that is appropiate to select the best method according to the type of learner supporting by the differnts programs, softwares and to take advantages of the computers
DeleteHi Susana. I really like how you expressed your ideas about this article. I found interesting the way you expose the importance of technology in the classroom as you mentioned technology helps the different kind of learners. Because educational software has been created with the porpouse of acquiere new knowledge according to each learner. Also I agree with your point that teachers must be well informed people in terms of technology usage. In order to provide significant information in a modern classroom.
