In general
terms, I going to mention that those articles have allowed me to understand the
function of technology into de classroom and how important it is, including
some advantages and some issues that our teachers affront .Teachers could make a
significant difference if they receive a trained about how to use technology
and programs into the classroom to develop specific skills in learners .Besides,
I discovered an relevant method called “
Podcasting” that is integrated into Computer Assisted Language CALL. After the
reading the two articles, I noticed an important thing.
The integration of podcasting
in education as a tool for learners. Podcasting is a new method that contain
audios and videos files in the web language learning. This method is used to
teach listening skills, allowing students to improve their listening comprehension.
Consequently to this, as far I’m concern most of the teachers tend to live the
reality of Salvadorian education. A large number of schools teachers not have
an access of those programs in the classroom .They cannot use iPods, laptops or
tablets because they not have access to those tools. In terms of develop
listening skills; teachers tend to use radio as an accessible tool. In another hand,
in higher education tend to happen the same. They are well – equipped but some
teachers are not aware to take an advantage to use those programs to improve
listening skills. As a result, this issue creates a barrier between the developing
and the independence of learner and the blending technology which could as far
as practicable enrich the learning through ESL programs
Interesting perspective Susy, i think the same way when you stated that teachers need to be trained to use technology in the classrooms. For example podcasting, an excellent tool to develop listening skills. Do not you think that this tool should have been taught first when we were leaning English? Unfortunately, we were not so lucky, but now we can be de difference. It is interesting the analysis you have made, that in our country the use of technology is demanding, but the institutions do not have the funds or the resources for a better education. It is kind of funny to see that some institutions push teachers to be “technological”, but I consider that teachers are like magicians, because with the few tools and access they have, some of them have made an incredible effort to teach differently and creating a really nice environment.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karla, also you are right.I agree with you because they need to recieve a training and get alone with technology and those tools can be accesible for everyone until schools with lake of resources .Suddenly ,We have already limitants in our country and the most effort is made by teachers as you mentioned they are like magicians .
ReplyDeleteHello Susy,
ReplyDeleteMy humble opinion is that training should be the priority. I firmly believe that once a teacher discovers these tools, he/she will be willing to try. Thus, our real concern should be not knowing them.
Well done!
